This Feeling

my very soul.

It is horrible…

and yet delectable

at the very same time.

Every time I sense it,

I smile with pain.

I cry with happiness.

I collapse with emotion,

and I wonder…

What would we do without this feeling?

Without this miraculous,

enticing,

resplendent ardor?

Without this bitter sweet,

overpowering, life-changing compassion?

It is like a sour candy…

Luring you towards it.

Pungent,

yet irresistible.

It is like a tap…

drip-drip-dropping.

Irritating,

yet somehow always there.

It is like a sweet, sugary sundae…

Towering in all its tantalizing toppings.

Ineluctable,

but too much of it is damaging.

I collapse with this feeling inside me

and wonder… what would we do without this feeling we call
Love.
